History |
Planet 5 grew out of a musical organization called Jupiter Plume. Plume was a band formed from pieces of a midwest college band named The Voice, which Jovo took part.
When Chad Dykema, Dan Brasier and Jovo of Jupiter Plume recorded their premier disc, "Bubble", the entirety of that process was managed completely independent of any outside organization. It was recorded at Windowsill Studios (Dan't studio) with Chad doing most of the writing. Dan and Jovo doing most of the engineering work. Jovo also did the mastering.
When it came time to print the CD, we needed a "record company" so to speak, and that is when Planet 5 Records was born. Initially, it was a sole proprietor business, and primarly existed as an indie label (still does).
After several years of collecting (expensive) gear and experience, Jovo decided to incorporate the Planet 5 and related brands under Planet 5 LLC. Planet 5 LLC is a New York corporation (Jovo happened to be living in the state of New York at the time).
Over time, Planet 5 records has taken on individual projects with several artists. While the stable of artists may change over time, one that has not, which is the quality of the songwriters working with Planet 5. That is most important. |

June 2004 - Jovo on #5 Tee Portland Country Club. Also in picture is brilliant producer, songwriter artist Pat Dawdy. I forgot what tournament this was, but look at that swing... that was a 272 yard drive. Dawdy would add the additional bit of info that the hole is downwind and downhill.
